Motivation and satisfaction are two key factors in order to explain the decision to visit a destination as well as the personal characteristics of tourist. In order to know the relationship between these two factors and sociodemographic variables, a questionnaire was administered (with a motivation and satisfaction scale) to a sample of 353 tourists of the city of Madrid with an average age of 34.60 (DT = 11.84). One-factor ANOVA was used for data analysis. Significant differences in motivation and satisfaction with respect to gender, age and nationality were found.
